Local saves

Save files and save slots

Five save slots are stored in this browser at this address. Import and export use the slot you select. An imported save is not loaded automatically. The browser file picker requires Enter, a click, or a tap.

Settings

Browser settings: speech

Applies only to this browser and web address. Select Apply to activate changes immediately.

Direct announcements bypass live-region updates. If the API is unavailable, the live region is used. Compare both methods with your screen reader. The aria-busy option only affects live regions.

eSpeak NG speaks game messages itself. New game commands stop its voice immediately, including controller input. Game text is not also sent to the live region. Your screen reader still handles page buttons, settings, and text fields. No text is sent to a speech service.

The browser voice uses a device voice matching the game language, preferably local. Depending on the browser and installed voice, a speech service may be involved. New game commands interrupt this voice too. On iPhone, first select Start game / Enable audio or Test current speech output. This voice is independent of VoiceOver.

The list contains voices supplied by the browser, with the game language first. Select Apply to activate changes. If your saved voice is unavailable, an automatic voice is used temporarily; your choice is retained.

100 is the normal voice speed; default 150.

The timing options below apply to screen readers (live region and ariaNotify). Browser voice and eSpeak NG start without this extra delay. 0 to 2000 ms; higher values skip more intermediate messages when navigating quickly.

0 means no limit: speech waits until you pause. A value from 1 to 2000 limits the delay from the first pending message, even while more messages arrive.

Defaults: browser voice, automatic language selection, speed 150 percent. Screen reader timing: delay 180 ms, no maximum, both additional options off. With live regions and ariaNotify, the screen reader controls its speech queue. eSpeak NG: 350 words per minute, volume 80 percent.

OneDrive saves (optional)

When loading, choose local or OneDrive saves. The five cloud slots are separate from the five local slots. Cloud saves load directly and upload automatically when you save. You decide which version to keep if they differ. Copy options are in the game menu under OneDrive → Management.

Not connected to OneDrive.

Microsoft sign-in requires Enter, a click, or a tap on Connect to OneDrive. The game receives access to its own OneDrive app folder.

    Controls and help

    Arrows: move. Enter/Space: confirm. Escape: back. E: describe. O: people and objects. M: menu. T: party. I: inventory. K: atlas. V: route guidance. N: navigation. R: repeat. G: opponent status. J: quick action. F5: save. Ctrl+F5: immediately save to current slot. F9: load. Alt+Up/Down: reorder.

    If NVDA intercepts game keys, use NVDA+Space in the keyboard area to switch to focus mode. Ctrl+Space releases keyboard control when needed. The labelled game buttons and a standard controller provide alternative controls.

    Standard controller: A confirm, B back, X describe, Y people, LB party, RB inventory, LT route guidance, RT/Start menu, Back quick action, left stick click load, right stick click save; double-click quickly to immediately save to the current slot.

    In menus, letters select matching entries; E still describes and V opens route guidance/map. Ctrl plus a game letter runs the other shortcuts. Without a destination, V/LT opens the map; press twice quickly to open it even with a destination. Personal markers are under Regional map → My destinations. Settings → Saving lets you choose quick save as the default.
